Seeing Dots

I’m loving how the 70s are in full swing again with the abundance of beautiful silk blouses available at the stores.  This blouse especially caught my eye with its classy cut and color – dark green with cream-colored polka dots.  Plus, I just love polka-dots!  Today I paired my polka-dot blouse with a pencil skirt and a tailored blazer for my Monday’s WORK Style.

Spotted-Ankle Bootie

If you didn’t have the chance to read my 100th post, please check it out!  I have embarked on a new adventure for the next 100 weeks, which began a couple weeks ago.  Today, I am posting NUMBER 3 out of 100.  I’m so excited to continue on this fashion journey!  For more information on MY ONE HUNDRED, please click here and also check out “The One Hundred” by Nina Garcia.

For years I have been on the search for THE Ankle Bootie, with no luck.  I would spot one, try it on, but it was the wrong size, wrong cut, wrong fit, wrong color…it was hopeless!  So after years and many seasons passing by, I just gave up.  Until a couple weeks ago when my faith was restored…I spotted these Ralph Lauren booties!!!  I finally found an ankle bootie with a great look, a perfect fit and the comfort to last me all day.  These boots are made for walking…well, in this case, these booties!

NUMBER 3/100 – ANKLE BOOTIE

DAY

P.S.  My husband found this amazing spot on top of a parking garage…I won’t say we sneaked up there, but it definitely was a crazy afternoon!  No matter the case, the view was amazing as we got the entire KL city skyline in the background of these shots!  It was a beautiful, clear weekend in Kuala Lumpur.

When wearing booties with a skirt, it’s great to wear opaque tights in the same color to keep your line going and going and going, as Nina says.  The longer looking leg the better!

Travel-Penang, Malaysia

Last night I was looking through our pictures from our trip to Penang and realized there was no way I could fit everything I wanted to share in one post.  So as explained in last Travel Thursdays post, I started a “BEST OF” list to highlight the best parts of our travel adventures.  Today, I will follow this tradition and highlight the “BEST OF” Penang.  Hopefully this “BEST OF” list can provide some further insight into each travel adventure, or if anything, give you an idea of my favorite parts of each trip.  I may even pick one of the spots in my “BEST OF” list to write about in more detail in a later post, so stay tuned.  One example is my post on Char Kway Teow.

Please always feel free to drop me a line to ask any questions regarding our travels!

Stopping by the E&O Hotel, founded in 1885, was one of the highlights of our trip.  It’s so beautiful with its colonial charm.  Remember this post?

When we spotted this billboard, we called the number and found a shop opened nearby.  We ran up to the window and ordered two boxes of these hand-made baked goods to go.  Plus, this man just looks so happy!

Visiting the temples throughout Penang was at the top of our list.  So we made sure to see them all.  Here are some photos from Wat Chaiya Mangkalaram, the Buddist temple with Thai, Myanmarese and Chinese architecture.

At the end of the day we were tired from all of our sightseeing, but made one last stop to Gurney Drive.  This is a favorite for food enthusiasts and famous for the rows of hawker stalls offering a huge selection of Penang specialties.
