Tennis anyone?

Wearing this little green skirt makes me think of playing tennis.  Unfortunately, I haven’t played tennis in years but when I did, I owned a skirt just like this.  This skirt, however, doesn’t have any pockets!  I remember how much I used to love the little, hidden pockets in your tennis skirt/tennis underwear for the tennis balls.  Ah, the things you think are the coolest when you are a kid, ha!

Spotted-Bangles

Putting on a little arm candy, sure can dress up an outfit…especially these layered, gold bangles.  You can wear thin bangles like these, thick chunky bangles, bright and bold, diamond-covered, wooden, plastic, decorated, painted, whatever mood you are in.  Sometimes I wear only a few bangles together (between three to six depending on their size) and other times, like today, I can wear up to twenty!  At work people can hear me cling-clanging down the hallway as my bangles swish along my wrist, but just as Nina Garcia says, “your bangles are your bells, announcing your stylish arrival.”

Oh, google Nancy Cunard in bangles…as Nina suggests.  Now that’s a lady that loved her bangles!

Travel-Thailand, Floating Market

A few months ago, my family and I had the chance to visit the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market in Thailand.  Located about an hour and a half ride from Bangkok in the Ratchaburi province, the Damnoen Saduak Floating market is one of the largest and most popular floating markets in Thailand.  We hired a ride to the location and then were ushered into a motorized boat where we zipped in and out of small waterways crowded with tourists.  It was my mom’s birthday and one she will never forget…what an amazing experience to see the people selling fruits, vegetables, souvenirs and even cooking inside their boats along the waterway.

“BEST OF” LIST (SUGGESTIONS) – FLOATING MARKET, THAILAND

1.)  Make sure you get to the floating market early in the morning.  It opens at 8AM.  It gets very hot as the day goes on and filled with tourists, so go early!
2.)  If you want to buy some food or a souvenir, make sure to bargain, bargain, BARGAIN!  They always hike the prices way up!  And have fun, don’t let it get you upset…it’s all a game.
3.)  Some tours let you get off the boat and explore, others don’t.  We stayed in the boat the entire time, which we preferred (it was more fun shopping on the water), but ask the tours to ensure you’re getting what you want.
4.)  On the way back to Bangkok, stop at the Rose Garden and enjoy a delicious lunch alongside the river and watch the Thai Cultural Show.
