Designer Spotlight-Elizabeth and James

Today, I will be posting two styles, a DAY style and a WORK style.  With the S/S fashion season quickly approaching, I’m trying to get the F/W photos and the feeling to wear plaid out of my system!  Friday, I will be posting two additional DAY styles as well, so this week is just chock-full of fashion.  I hope you enjoy!

For the first look in my DAY style I’m highlighting a pair of ballet flats by Elizabeth and James, our designer in today’s Designer Spotlight post.  Launched in 2007 by the lovable twins from “Full House”, Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen, the brand Elizabeth and James was named after their two siblings.  A chic blend of masculine and feminine blazers, shirts and dresses, the contemporary collection is inspired by the twins’ unique vintage style and personal wardrobe.  In addition to their textile collection, the brand offers jewelry, shoes and eyewear.  Check out their lookbook for inspiration or shop online here, along with browsing their site to find the store nearest you.  So if someone were to ask me…”Do you love the Elizabeth and James collection?”  I would reply, as the Olsen twins would reply with their famous phrase on “Full House”…”You got it dude!”

You don’t always have to tuck in your collared shirt for a work style.  Sometimes I wear mine out, especially if my skirt may feel a little snug in the back.  Adding a belt shows off the waist, cinches in the shirt and turns the look from sloppy to stylish.

I love this vintage belt and have nicknamed it “My Superman” belt…it just reminds me of the silver “S” shaped famous logo.  Plus, I’ve been watching a little too much “Smallville” lately.

Bright colors are definitely a fashion trend this Spring season.  So add a bright skirt or some bright shoes to your style!  My yellow shoes are my brightest!  They really make my WORK style POP!
