Spotted-Denim Jacket

Now on to the D’s of MY ONE HUNDRED…  And what better way of starting them off then styling the Denim Jacket, a definite wardrobe necessity.  I have to admit, I caught myself wearing my little black booties (I know I did my bon voyage to boots last week), but these don’t count, right?  Anyway, I snuck them in again for one last style this season with my black opaque tights and one of my favorite denim jackets.  Happy Friday!  Have a great weekend and thanks for following along!

Travel-Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

As described in this post, we recently visited Vietnam.  Here are some shots along the streets of Ho Chi Minh City…

v1

v2The streets are swarming with mopeds and it’s amazing to watch how much they can fit on the back of one!

v3

v4A lady selling rambutans, remember this post?

v6Young girls waiting for some business at a hair salon.

v9

v10A young girl texting while she waits for her moped to be fixed.

v11Street food…

v13

v14

v15The stool acts as a version of their “car seat” for kids as they ride with their parents on the mopeds.

v16A shoe shop along the street.  They were mending leather and fixing the soles.

v17The day was coming to a close…families were gathering and others were leaving work.

v5One last sight, a cute cuddly dog guarding his owner’s shop.

v18I look forward to sharing more of our adventures next Thursday.  Have a great day!

Designer Spotlight-Tieks

Three weeks ago, I had never heard of Tieks.  Now, I can’t imagine being without them!  Tieks, with the slogan, “The Ballet Flat, Reinvented”, have been popping up all over the place!  Introduced to Tieks by a work colleague that was visiting KL from the States, I was so excited to hear how comfortable these flats were, not to mention that they fold right up into a small little pouch (perfect for commuting to work).  But not only are Tieks easily packaged for travel, they are made from real leather with rubber padded soles, they are available in 33 different colors (so far!), and each pair of Tieks come with its very own high heel tote bag along with clips to hold up your dress pants when you make the switch from your heels into your new ballet flats.  What a great idea!

Now you know I’m a sucker for a colored sole (hello, my LOUBOUS!), so of course when I found out that each one of these cute ballet flats adorned an almost “Tiffany blue” sole, I had to have a pair!  And as if I couldn’t get enough of the beautiful, bright blue soles, I ordered my Tieks in the same beautiful, blue color.  Oh and I ordered two pairs instead of one…I know, I just couldn’t help myself!  Within less than two weeks of ordering (which is a record to receive things out here in Malaysia!), my Tieks arrived in the cutest packaging I have ever received from ordering an item online.  You just have to see the pictures to understand…

The best part of ordering my Tieks was when I LIKED Tieks on FACEBOOK, I received an email with a 20% promo code and free shipping!  But know that you have to use this discount within 24 hours for you to receive it.

When ordering, the Tieks website asks…”How did you hear about us?”  When I replied little did I know that I would receive a personalized greeting and thank you note within my package.  What a lovely way to make you feel a part of the Tieks community.

I was so giddy with excitement while opening my Tieks that I even used the beautiful flower wrapping as my headband around the house, ha!  Hey, it worked!

So here’s my new ballet flats, all folded up.  The foldable, split-sole design is what makes them so easy to carry everywhere in a small amount of space in your purse.

These are the dress pants clips.

Trying on my Tieks for the first time…they fit like a glove!  So soft and comfy…not to mention super stylish!  Now off to my WORK style, when I brought them outside for the first time – too bad it was a bit dreary and started to rain.  But my Tieks did fine in the weather and still look as shiny as when I pulled them out of their blue box.  Gotta love them!

WORK

tieks23tieks24tieks16tieks25tieks21Not only are they super stylish, but I have to admit my Tieks are the most comfortable flats I have ever worn (sorry Dr. Scholl’s).  After getting to work, I found myself delaying putting on heels just because I was so comfy.  Thanks to Liz for introducing me to Tieks!

If you decide to purchase a pair of Tieks, please let me know.  I would love to know which ones you choose!  Have a great Wednesday!
