On a typical weekday morning in Washington, D.C. I watched as women commuted to and from work, me right along side them. Usually rushing on and off the metro, carrying umbrellas, coats, lunch bags, talking on their phones, typing on their Blackberrys, I always noticed a majority of them toting a Le-Pliage Longchamp bag. Never owning a Longchamp bag until I moved overseas, ironically, I have to admit that these bags are perfect for work, play and DAY! Being made primarily from vinyl, these bags are lightweight, basically waterproof and fit everything! Not to mention, these bags fold up into the smallest of squares for easy travel. This is definitely a plus for me! So although the Longchamp company was founded in 1948 to create leather coverings for pipes and products geared towards smokers, this French company expanded its products and became popular for its lightweight travel bags! Then in 1993, along came the Le-Pliage bag. Longchamp has even created some beautiful holiday Le-Pliage bags this season, called the Le-Pliage de Noel. Speaking of noel, I think I’m going to start my Christmas list after viewing their site.
