Praying for Boston

I was awoken this morning to my husband telling me the news of a terrible bombing in the U.S. that occurred during the Boston marathon.  After hearing the words leave his mouth, I was snapped out of my sleepy state and ran to the phone to call my family.  Not because they ran the marathon or knew anyone or did, not because we are from Boston, just because I wanted to hear their voices.  It’s amazing how something so terrible can happen.  Still today, almost 12 years after September 11th, which changed the way I think, the job I chose and the life I live, terrible things are still happening all around the world.  It makes me want to be closer to home, closer to my family and realize again how short life truly is.  Today, it felt almost trivial posting about anything else but how much I’m grateful for my family, my friends, my health and just my life.  This blog has been such a huge part of my life for almost two years and I want to thank you, my followers and readers, for being a part of my extended family and friends.  I hope wherever you are and whatever you may be doing today, please remember we only have one life and make the most of everyday.

Praying for Boston tonight here in Hong Kong,
Grace
